HWC: Thoughts going in, and how I feel it went

I'm going to Homebrew Website Club Pacific in about 30 minutes. By the time you're reading this it will already be over though. I wanted to sit down before and write about how I think or hope it will go. Then I can write about how it actually went before I post.
But Aaaron, how will we know you didn't just write this all after the fact to make yourself look good?
Honestly, if this post ends up being anything but slighly cringe I'll be shocked. Nevertheless, here I sit to write.
How will it go?
I truly have no idea. Confession: I've actually never been to HWC before 🫣
I'm going this time because Azure encouraged me to! And because I've always wanted to set aside the time to do it but never had the support to make it a reality. So thanks must go to her!
So how will it go? I think I want to try and listen more than I talk, but I am curious to hear thoughts people may have about PADD! I want to talk about Webstead but I don't think I'm quite ready to really dive into what it is I'm cooking here.
How did it go?
Joe acted as host and he did a great job! Thanks so much Joe!
We spend probably the first 45ish minutes doing intros since this was my first HWC. It was really awesome to hear from everyone and see what you're working on. Here's a list of some of their websites pulled from the meeting etherpad:
- burgeonlab
- morgan
- kevinmarks
- joelchrono
- gwg
- rossabaker
- btrem
- aciccarello
- gRegor
- kupietz
- fractalkitty, fractalkitty: banjomagpi
After intros we dove into questions and discussion topics. We talked about things like privacy friendly surveys for static sites, HTMX, Django, Migrations, and plenty of other interesting things. It was a great chance to be social and begin to get to know folks beyond just their URL.
Sadly I did have to drop early. I had a lot of fun! But alas, the kids sadly can't put themselves to bed (yet).
